Pediatric Therapy Network Respite Event, Torrance
As a group of 10-15 volunteers, help plan and facilitate age-appropriate games, entertainment for 18 months-3 year-old children with special needs on a chosen evening to give their parents a little respite! This is for service groups with 10-12 members, not for individual volunteers.

Any weekday Tu-F or student free day, 8:00 am-4:00 pm
Habitat for Humanity Harbor Gateway Build, East of Torrance
You must be at least 16 to help with construction; younger volunteers, help by providing lunch for Alternative Spring Break Collegiate Challenge volunteers starting in March

Bring a simple, hot meal and paper goods to feed 45 kids living below poverty

First Book Advisory Board, Torrance
Attend meetings from 3:00-4:00 pm once a month and provide "youth voice" by giving input; must be high school junior or senior
First Artists Advisory Board, South Bay
Attend afternoon or evening meeting on 3rd Monday of each month to help advise on awarding of art supplies to after-school programs serving low income children (2-3 volunteers needed)

Roundhouse Marine Studies Lab & Aquarium (Manhattan Beach Pier)
Educate the public and school groups on the wonders of the water sheds and the animals that live in the local habitats. Help with scrubbing and maintenance. You must be 15 years or older.

Crossroads Peer and Academic Mentoring Program, Carson
Mon-Thu 2:00-6:00 pm, Sat 10:00 am-1:00 pm
Help build positive social connections and provide homework assistance in math, reading, language skills, etc. for kids in 2nd through 11th grades; minimum 2-3 hours a week, 3-6 months commitment

Help with activities in after-school program for kids aged 5-17 living in shelter

Help enrich the lives of hospitalized children with fun hats and storybooks by sewing/decorating hats, assisting with fundraising

Be a positive role model, tutor disadvantaged students aged 5 up in math, reading homework, teach a computer/academic concept; help correct papers, create flyers, bulletin boards, light office work

Assist Program Director and leaders with after-school activities (must be 16 or older, proof of TB test, fingerprinting may be required
