thank you so much Miss Rotana I want to thank everyone for joining us this evening to inform you about LAUSD are we opening plans I hope you find this information I'm very helpful Uncle before we begin I want to introduce my boss the Wilmington Community or School administrator mr. David Cooper hey I think your Rudy and the Banning High call team in the Banning family this is a very important Town Hall you going to be learning about we're going to be talking about all the information you need to make an informed decision for your child when it is safe to come back that time is not now no one is asking you to send your child back to the school right now and I want to be very clear of the decision you're making today at when you fill out the survey is not whether or not I would send my child back tomorrow it's when things are safe when times are good are you interested in returning to school to be a potentially when it's safe to a hybrid or or a virtual learning environment do all the protocols mr. Mendoza the campus looks just beautiful that's waiting for them it's waiting for our kids to come back we want it more than anybody but it has to be safe in order to do that I would that being said please take it away and thank you everybody for your support during this difficult time are teachers or administrators are staff for custodians are doing such a good job right now working on behalf of kids and we're just so thank you mr. Mendoza thank you Cooper and thank you so much for work knowledge in our plant manager and our B&G workers they have done an outstanding job of preparing our facilities are under the leadership of mr. Lu ever know who is our assistant principal over the plants I want to take this to the Leviton I also want to thank our plant manager mr. Garrett I think he's on today to thank you so much mr. Garrett's for your countless hours of preparation there at mr. Org okay so what are the guidelines to reopen school campus the question about when we open school is based on the guidelines set by our Public Health authorities both the California Department of house and and the County of Los Angeles Public Health Department La unified is also working with Sciences from our partners at Stanford John Hopkins and UCLA to guide the decision-making process or run a safe return to camp what are the data set the LA unified regularly monitor is the data shared from the California Department of Public Health the California Department of Public Health shares of data for every County on the website that you see on your data for each county is shared using the following color coding system to define the risk level from purple which is defined as widespread to Yellow which is minimal today the current level in LA county is Tier 1 which is purple in order for schools to reopen LA County needs to be on the Red Scare alarm for 3 as previously stated by the stupid by super set up schools for this semester will not be possible for the California Department of Public Health Website detailed information and data when you go to this website you can see the map of the state of California to see how LA County race with the rest of the surrounding counties this information is updated every Tuesday the method is presented before you was captured on October 17th 2020 so now I want to send it back to miss return or assistant principal over counseling explain what your options are there for Cana thank you mr. Mendoza So today we're going to learn about our options what are options as as parents as we as we prepare students said it is when it is safe so we plan to offer a family's two different Austin means that it will be in person and online and this is going to allow students to spend some time a portion of the day learning at school and also spend some time online so it is hybrid the other option is online learning UK and this is the model that we are using right now so your students your children are doing this at this time so this is the second option all right so they'll have full-time online learning as they are doing right now and they will continue to work live with the teacher online and independently this is the same model it is 5 days a week and we will still have the grab-and-go option available for for your you or your child to pick up food so you can opt out of the hybrid learning model as a designated points in the school calendar what does it look like for a high school students in both of these models you're asking right so first let's talk about what it's going to look like in the hybrid model so this is where your child students will be attending campus for a portion of the week with fewer students on campus at any given time will remain in the same classroom while on campus with the same group or cohort as we call it a students in a consistent cohort so they'll continue learning online on on the days that they're not on campus campus day they may engage both in person to person you know it's learning or in remote instruction and then again don't continue to learn with the full schedule and the second option again online only learning as we're doing right now they'll participate in all of their learning online with a mix of live instruction with their teacher and then also independent work time as they have been given at this time they'll continue to learn online 5 days a week and the meals will be available to go on campus through Grab & Grow Grab & Go bacon learning at designated point in the school calendar so that is one thing to really pay attention to where in online learning if you decide to go into hybrid learning there's going to be specified were you can select that option if you wish to by now you may have received weather to text message email you may have gotten it through the mail social media you may have gotten just turn to campus Family Guy and this family guide gives you all of the information that we are speaking today in more detail and also it'll give you all of the information about you know just the specifics about each of the two options in case so just be on the lookout for it if you haven't seen it yet just maybe go back to some of your emails text messages social media the website we have it we have it all over for you to be able to read as a family and if not if you need a copy we do have them available the next thing is that what you will have is until this Sunday December 6th to make your selection so what will you hybrid or online so whatever it is that you decide we are asking that you can please make a selection by then so that we are able to prepare a safe return it when is available then again it's not going to happen this semester but when it does happen I do want to continue to stress it that it is when it does happen okay again please please be sure to fill this out if you have a language preference if you want to fill it out in another language you do have that working as well so all you do is when you go to this site at the top right it'll give you a It'll ask for the language or your specific language and if you want it in a different language or $10 which are the High School you will have that option so parents as you know the one thing that you will need is your student ID ID number so from now until December 6th we will be doing this online so please be sure the one thing that you will need is your student ID number now where do you find it report card even old report cards you will be able to find that there if you have parent portal you will be able to find your child's student ID number there but if you don't if you don't have it just remember that you can always call the LAUSD hotline which is 213-443-1300 that is always that is one place that you can definitely find it and again what they were is do you want to go hybrid or online is this the selection for your child hybrid or online and you will have to do it for each child so so please if you do had that student ID number I do want to stress that that is what you will need now it's available they are there will be on site to supervise care and this is mostly for elementary at this time from my understanding and also if your child like if your child is in a magnet program and is taking the bus to Banning that is also an option for your child and so you think you can also select those things we will need to know that information as well and one important thing to know is that if you do not submit a selection by December 6th the default will be hybrid so again is you don't make a selection by December 6th it will be hybrid but of course you do have that option to to change it at some point you will just have to you'll have to just contact us and then we can do again online hybrid are your choices for December 6th I'm good job in explaining what the options are and the process okay mrs. Guzman good afternoon and thank you for joining us so how do you prepare your child to return to so you will find this information also on the Family Guy all the information that we're providing today the tests are available through LAUSD I can make an appointment if you see the link provided under number one you will need your child's ID number that says is free and is not a test so you should be is not painful is free you can make an appointment at any of the schools that are offering the test app for LAUSD the other thing to do is register in the parent portal Parent Portal is becoming the place with all the information you need is provided you can find all of this including the fan he died and information about testing in the parent portal you will need to have your students ID again as well to register the next thing to do is complete the online program selection form by December 6th as Miss Rattata mention this is very important because you want to make sure you choose a program that is best for you and your family so December 6th is a deadline for selecting the program wherever weather is hybrid or online only because as much Rattata mention hybrid will be the default if you do not select a program for your child and the last thing is prepare your child to where I'm at how many children or many students have gone outside have come to pick up books devices and they have brought their Master wearing them all the time at that mandatory when they return I know for sure a student's to two different scenarios including health problems they might not be where I'm at so it might be difficult for them to wear a mask the best thing to do is to prepare by having them wear a mask when if it's at home so they can be used to wearing that mask because it's very important okay thank you Miss Guzman has the next light sorry so how do you make an appointment take the test as I said before you can make an appointment to any with any of the schools that are offering the Cobra testing that one that's closer than the one that's in the Wilmington to me Bridges span School they'll be the closest to Banning High School and the closest in the Wilmington community school but if you were closer or you want to take your child to another school you can make an appointment if you looked at the cute cute QR code on the ride you'll be able to scan and schedule an appointment when you schedule an appointment you're going to be able to select are the schools that offer the Cobra testing just know that some schools are also offering it on Saturdays but not all schools so again the closest will be Harry Bridges and you would need to have your child student ID in order to create an appointment for your child and also you can create an appointment for yourself thank you sister Janet Guzman so mrs. movie now talking about our safety Protocols of the three model I'm here today to speak to you about the 3's model screening sanitation and social distance. one priority is safety so please watch the following video which explains the three s model and what your child will expect to see when she or he returns with school returns we open thank you for some reason we can't hear it and any entering campus classrooms everyday starts to safety and the three s's screening sanitize and social distancing it is up to everyone to use the three s's to protect their health and the health of others the first s is for screening screening a student employees and anyone enter campus upon daily arrival to campus your temperature will be checked a check-in area for health screening questions will be in place would be enough space to maintain privacy all l e u m student will check in Daily for hair if you have a fever cough or cold and flu like symptoms please do not enter return when you are well II ask is for sanitize sanitize frequently start with practicing rigorous hand hygiene restrooms at hand washing sinks in classrooms will be stocked with soap and paper towels hand sanitizer will also be available and locations throughout campus frequent cleaning of high-touch surfaces along with disinfecting classroom furniture Play services are being kept clean and sanitize daily with electrostatic misters and for anyone aged to Andover a face covering is required the third s is for social distance to keep at least six feet between people at look for signs that Mark 6 Is a sport will athletes be able to condition during 7. I will be yet to be determined by RUSD and then there's a lot of questions if Wednesday do the survey do they get a confirmation of what their selection that I'm not quite sure I would assume that they would probably get a confirmation email stating but they're what their selection was but again this is a survey if any accidents are found positive during hybrid will they close the school there is a process that will be shared with the school sites in particular the principles to ensure that is facilitated implemented I'll be a process in which we are informed if a student is exposed as in yes there will be a procedure for them as well as I was coming so if I can show signs with no fever like sneezing runny nose or coughing will they be sent home we will be sure to make it clear that any symptoms that may be noticed by a family member that they are not just on the tree what's the score of the answer to that question is yes a student's arm if we find that a student is coming with potential symptoms they will be sent home will there be a science School stop at every entrance of the school to do temperature checks for everyone coming in the formation of sports so the entire day in school will be with the group assigned their students will be assigned we don't exactly know what that looks like but we do know that there will be a court will be no longer larger than 12 will the kids be given more time to get to class to transition from one class to the other absolutely we still need to create that particular bell schedule as we understand that it will look different based on the needs of our school and how many actual be coming back and participating in the hybrid model so they will be about scheduled that will lend itself to additional time to getting from class to class yes with so many children in the classes and social distancing that limiting the amount of students for more teachers be hired that is information that we do not know yet do if your child got tested already they will need to get tested again before coming in I believe 72 hours as of now that's the information what was given prior to coming back to school and if you're a senior and you do homeschool where they let you walk the stage that is something that you would eat you call your counselor and inquire about there's a process for that and then the eligibility to walk the stage is mr. Bean fruit I think it had some parents intoxication that if they did if they do distance learning they feel like they're at they're going to have to repeat the grade the only keeper of credits would be the counselor and so that would be a question that they couldn't talk to the counselor in terms of what their status is now in terms of credits of been completed how many are actually they're taking now and then there's a fool such that should be made by the council to determine what your status is no answer if I make this Vision to send my child back to school but if I change my mind once the protocol is decided and shared about what will happen can I make the switch at that time no need to wait at the school said we wanted sure that everything is comfortable with the option that they choose for their child, I know that you are making a decision based on the now and what is happening right now and that's what we want you to do if something has changed your Viewpoint is a little bit different and you want to change the option for your child will make every accommodation every every effort to make the accommodation if you want for your child want you to feel comfortable if we watch a machine you feel your child is very sick at school will the hybrid and remote valve stem schedule each other those are they right now they are set up that a child that is taken online turning a washer being a virtual classroom with your teacher however things are constantly changing and there's more information to come about how that instructional peaceful look like I will you have another town hall meeting for seniors there will be another town hall. Specifically for seniors right now are Town Hall meetings are designated to disseminate information regarding the returning by campus however there can be and should be a town hall meeting keeping seniors informed as what second semester will look like so as soon as we complete these Town Hall meetings and getting our reopening plan on solid and communicated out to our Banning community and then we will be able to have a meeting as we know more information with our seniors kobata do parents have the question if will they have the same teachers that in hybrid or online so if they do distance learning and hybrid was a teacher stay the same as of right now that is the goal of LAUSD but things may change but that is the goal of l u s t service-learning is a still going to still be required from by their teacher is required by the teacher they can obtain more information from their social studies teacher other is more information forthcoming on how we can do that virtually I think that sometimes you are saying that the questions are not being translated for them so that they only hear that they're only being responded in English is a translation still happening yes it should be as of right now we have not been informed that any graduation requirements will be revised they are asking about restrooms will all restaurants be open what will be will hand sanitizer be found in there soap as of now the plan is to have our existing restrooms open again we predict that we probably be at 25% of our total operation that we are not quite sure and they will be protocol set for our restroom accidentally posted and someone will be at the directions to ensure that the particles are followed or will be sanitizer in the restrooms and outside the restrooms as well as students have bad allergies will that cause a problem because of sneezing sometimes coughing and runny noses will they be allowed to devil to be a question this is not answered that we could pick up with our school district operational right operation group and get an answer back to the okay and then they said if they attempted to make an appointment with a further covet and was asked if the school sent then the notification to take a test but the Benning Michael hasn't sent notification formation to make an appointment and I think it was also cover this evening by Massive luzmar on how to set an appointment for yourself if you kept problems with I'm getting online and make an appointment you can always walk in to Harry Bridges and I believe that they will check a walk-ins as well and then I can answer that one they just click yes because there was there was there was an invitation to for students to take the Cobra test so you would click yes on that first question is a question on the survey yeah so. they said no I I think maybe it doesn't allow them to to make the best correct so parent Banning High School had Nino's parents have been notified so just click yes but a little Wyndham 650s is that what you're saying mystery enter are they having a challenge doing that writes on the because they didn't because they didn't get a notification they played Nell so then tell them that they are they wouldn't get an invitation for sale notification that this service is available to them so parents can just click yes yes even though they might not have gotten a notification but they were aware that this was services available okay with students who do hybrid will parents be notified if another student in the Culper test positive if the USDA has come up the protocol for that and the question was who would be notified yes the parent would be notified by the school district yes and so I understand there's a parent saying that they can't they will not they're not allowing them to test unless they have a student with them turn on alarm for parents to test my child is with him okay so I am not sure about that protocol this is the first time that has come across lots of my attention it was Harry Bridges or was this another school I'm not sure. I'm not sure about they may want to try reaching out again and attempted to take that test and letting them know they are parent and take some information with him that validates that they are kind of a student and then I will restrooms have seat covers absolutely there will be a speaker covers and every on bathroom stall and then any plans or ideas for prom no not yet the district will have to bring give us skylines is if we are still in the same situation that we are Day of the Dead the district will provide guidelines for Student Activities and what if it's doing needs a class that can only be taught in person that I believe I'm the district will provide again I'm guidance for that if they determined that there's only classes that can be done in person as of right now all of our classes are online and then I will there be breaks like before during school hours were kids socialize those brakes are most likely not to happen but yet again we are waiting additional songs from The District in regards to I would assume they're fixing of the Pilot brake and a lunch over have you and we're still waiting guidelines of what it's going to look like for the cohorts when they come back is it going to be a full day is it going to be a hot day going to get some of ours was a blended model we're not sure yet what that's going to look like and that is all perfect okay mrs. Guzman set reminder so we went to remind you again that in order to prepare your child to return to campus at the first thing would be to get your child tested we have this is the closest to our school but you can make an appointment to any of the sites that are available through LAUSD you can have you can see the link there to make an appointment and you will need your child's ID number how to register for the parent portal a lot of time portal information is being shared through the parent portal please make sure you create an account you will need an email and email that you check regularly because they're going to send you information when you register for the parent portal old so you can see grades and you can see attendance and you can see a teacher information and that's fine as well the next thing will be two again complete the selection form by December 6th is very important so you decide what model you want your child to be part of the last one was for you to prepare your child to wear eye mask it is very important and something we had to get used to because we're used to wearing it all the time but when they return to campus they need to wear a mask at all time and again a quick reminder the closest site to get tested is Harry Bridge Spence school so you can go to any site once you go and make an appointment you have the option to select any site where LAUSD offers testing take him to school tomorrow and thank you I'm all of my assistants will get a great job in presenting this important information I'm enclosing I can't stress enough how important it is that you online and I know these are just over and over throughout the presentation to complete the return to school survey that way you choose you choose what option is best for your child hybrid or online I remember if you don't complete the survey your child by default will be placed in the hybrid option now I know that when I am in different public areas just recently I would say within the last one or two months bajas Albertsons Northgate Market wherever it may be I always run into parents and they ask the questions and I was never back to the survey and how important it is for each family or parent to fill it out for their child they always say if I was to return back to school what my option would be that's all you can base it on is how you're feeling right now if a month or two or three whenever we return back to school cuz what's on Stern we do not know when that's going to be you have a difference if you ever change your voice thanks for your child and what option would be best for your child we will accommodate you okay so you're going to fill out the service based on what you feel now and what is happening right now that's all we have to go by the survey again is due on Sunday December 6th I encourage you to do it tonight if you can I know that a lot of times we get very very busy we're working for taking care of our children make each other online banking they're doing what they need to do as much as we forget what we're supposed to do so while it's fresh in your mind as information is fresh in your mind please please go on tonight if you can complete that serve a very very simple okay this evening I hope that you found that the information that was presented to you helpful and that you are better forms of Aller usd's reopen any plans as of today and again I just want to reiterate that things are constantly moving constantly moving and changing a developing and a good way and a better way to best serve your children serve our school community on both our staff for teachers and again of safety is our top priority in LAUSD and I know that it's our top priority at Banning High School and it always has been so again I'll be half of my administrative staff my teachers my support staff our security staff and my B&G workers we thank you for joining us this evening make sure to wash your hands frequently and wear your mask okay I wish all of you a happy holiday if you came in late this evening that you didn't get to see the whole presentation and we will post our presentation on the website and has been recorded and if you want to live for them Tatian on December 10th I will have my coffee with the principal and we will review this presentation again and provide any updates as we see if we received any at that time so I can coffee with the principal on Thursday December 10th at 9:30 a.m. okay and I hope to see everyone there good night everybody and thank you so much
